What is Merit List?
Merit List is a public leaderboard of Indian startups and products. A listing’s score is simply the total it has paid, so the ranking is not an opinion, an algorithm, or an editorial pick — it is an amount.
How much does it cost to list?
A new listing starts at ₹99. That puts you on the board at whatever rank ₹99 earns against the listings already there.
How do I move up the leaderboard?
Pay ₹99 more than the listing above you and you take its place. Top-ups start at ₹99, and the board shows the exact price to pass each rank, so there is never a guess about what a position costs.
What happens if two listings have paid the same amount?
The listing that reached that score first holds the higher rank. A tie is broken by time, never at random.
Are payments refundable?
No. A listing is paid advertising placement and every bid is non-refundable. The placement is delivered the moment the payment is captured and the board updates.
Which payment methods are accepted?
Up to ₹50,000: UPI, cards, netbanking and wallets. From ₹50,000 to ₹1,00,000: UPI, cards and netbanking. Above ₹1,00,000: netbanking and bank transfer only, because most banks cap UPI to a merchant at ₹1 lakh.
What is a pay-to-rank leaderboard?
A pay-to-rank leaderboard is a public list whose order is set by money rather than by votes, an algorithm, or an editor. Every position is bought, the amount that bought it is shown, and anyone can take a higher position by paying more. Merit List is one, run in Indian rupees.
Is Merit List the same as outbid.lol?
No. They are unrelated sites. outbid.lol is the board that started this category; it prices listings in US dollars from $5 and takes card payments through Stripe. Merit List is built for India: entries start at ₹99, payment is by UPI, netbanking, card or wallet through Razorpay, and passing a listing costs ₹99 more than its total.
Why would anyone pay to be on a leaderboard?
It is advertising, priced openly. A listing on the board is a link in front of everyone looking at it, the click count each listing earns is public, and the cost of any position is visible before you pay. What you are buying is attention and a rank, not an endorsement.
Does the category I choose change my rank?
No. There is one global ranking and your category never moves you in it. A category gives you a second, separate standing — being first in your category is its own position, held alongside your rank on the main board.
What can I list?
A product website or a public profile. Link shorteners are not accepted — paste the real URL instead — and chat or invite links (Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord and the like) are not allowed, because the board is for products and profiles rather than group chats.
Can I use an affiliate or tracking link?
No. Everything after the ? is stripped from a listing URL before it is saved, so referral codes and campaign parameters do not survive. What the board advertises and where the link goes are the same address.
My URL is already on the board — what now?
One product holds one row. If a URL is already listed, a second submission of it is refused and you are pointed at the listing that has it. Different apps and repositories on the same platform count as different products, so two App Store apps never share a listing. If the listing is yours, raise its bid from the manage link in your payment confirmation instead of listing it again.
What is today’s board?
A second ranking of the last 24 hours, ordered by what each listing paid inside them. The same payment counts on both boards — it ranks you on today’s board for a day and stays on the all-time board for good — which usually makes today’s #1 far cheaper than the all-time one.
